VMAs 2010

The VMAs last night was no where as great as I thought it was going to be. I had such high hopes of it being good this year with Chelsea Handler as the host. She is always funny and has much to say about everyone when watching Chelsea Lately on E!. I was disappointed with her entrance. Mocking Gaga wasn't the greatest and her jokes were so bland. It was actually a little uncomfortable seeing her walking around the stage, telling jokes, and getting no response from the audience. I didn't care so much for Russell Brand hosting the other VMAs, but it was better than this year. At least the stage set up was pretty cool.

From the few parts that I did watch, which were some of the performances, I liked. Yay, for Rihanna making it to the show and performing with Em, for Love the Way You Lie, even though that song is completely overplayed on the radio. Love the red do that Rihanna's pulling. Gorgeous! I remember seeing Justin Bieber's performance. Seems like he's going down that Spears road and lip syncing. At least, his mentor, Usher was doing his performance live. It's rare that you have an artist not lip syncing, to the point that you can hear them breathing into the mic! Usher did well. There is still no other to top Lady Gaga in a live performance. Saw her at the HP Pavillion, recently, and absolutely amazing live. One medley performance that I enjoyed was Bruno Mars, B.o.B., and Paramore. The transitions were smooth and the stage set up for Paramore's performance of The Only Exception was beautiful. It actually looked like city lights hitting the water, on that stage. Then, there was the performance by Taylor Swift, something that people were waiting to hear. Especially, with what happened to her last year with Kanye storming the stage. She is still such a good person, in the lyrics, "Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did. You're still an innocent." "Everyone of us has messed up too... I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new." Honestly, if it were anyone else, there would be a lot of bashing going on. I didn't even stick around for the final performance by Kanye. Then, my fav to hear, Fancy by Drake, always looking good. On the other note, I'm glad to hear form Linkin Park. They've been away for too long.
